Book Review: Into the Drowning Deep

Into the Drowning Deep made it onto my reading list because it just seemed like the perfect gritty mermaid story – one that so many of us have waited to hit the shelves. Sure, I love the beautiful myths and sugary scenes of lovely underwater scenery of flaxen haired women. I even love the darker imagery of smirking, half naked gals who flirt with pirates and bask in their own lovely forms. But mermaid lovers know that there is also another side to the story that is just waiting to come to light. not this book Mira Grant is here more »

Book Review: Blood for Blood

HELLO THERE. I am back huehue. It’s been a truly long while since I last wrote a review on this blog. Life has been prettttty hectic since the start of 2017 and it took me a long while to get used to school life. I even had to shut down my personal book blog because it did not seem wise to continue it when I haven’t blogged in almost a year. BUT ANYWAYS. Back to the review! It’s safe to say that this book broke me, shattered me, killed me. I mean, HELLO WHAT IS THIS. For someone who isn’t a more »

Book Review: The Takedown

The Takedown – a novel that grabbed my attention based on the cover at my local bookstore. I loved that a PoC was on the front, I loved all the little pictures and how sci-fi it seemed right from the start. So I had to pick it up. The premise was just perfect as well: I loved that the synopses was very unapologetic and I loved that technology and safety with online data was the central theme of the novel. Book Review: Crooked Kingdom

I would have come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting. I AM NOT OKAY. LIKE NOPE NU-UH. Yknow, I finished this book two weeks ago and I AM SO NOT OVER IT. I can still remember vividly what happened in the book, and oh damn. This is the best conclusion to a duology that I’ve ever read. Everything just falls into place and oh damn. OH DAMN. But okay, I more »

Book Review: Ready Player One

Being bogged down by school work so much, when I do get around to reading for pleasure it sure feels great that I haven’t had much bad luck at least. I went into Ready Player One without much expectations, despite that I’ve had several friends over the last year read it and tell me it’s a definite must for me to get to ASAP (of which I obviously kept putting off until now). I don’t know why I kept putting it off. Maybe I was worried I wouldn’t like it as much as the others and end up being the more »

Book Review: The Midnight Star (The Young Elites #3)

Well that was a bloody brilliant ending to an amazing trilogy. I mean, WOW. I probably should not be surprised because HELLOO this is the same author who wrote the Legend trilogy, but still. HOLY HELL I am seriously astounded by the ending and I’m not ready for this world to go away just yet. “You are a light,” she replies gently. “And when you shine, you shine bright.” That quote is slowly killing me every time I read it, oh God. This whole trilogy has been bloody perfect and just when I thought it could not get any better, more »
