I’ve tried many different Swoon Reads titles, across a wide range of genres, and readers, I think I’m done. I think I’ve liked one of all the books from them that I have read, and the rest have been mediocre or pretty terrible. It’s not a Macmillan thing, it’s an imprint thing. The Midnight Dance was no different. The premise held a lot of promise, and the writing was atmospheric and full of delightful turns of phrase. But that’s where the good ends. Book Review: The Truth About Happily Ever After

The Truth About Happily Ever After was surprisingly charming. It wasn’t perfect, by any means, and I strongly disliked it at first (even thought about DNFing), but it grew on me like a bad rash. If you’re looking for something fun and light-hearted set in a park like Disney, I think you will probably enjoy this. My main issue was suspension of disbelief. Book Review: A Little Something Different

I know I need to write this review now (the day after finishing) because I will forget everything about this book if I don’t. It was cute, adorable even, but it’s not particularly memorable and my brain has already started to dump the details. A Little Something Different comes off like a college creative writing assignment. That’s not necessarily a bad thing if it’s executed well, and it sort of is and it sort of isn’t.
