Book Review: The Song Rising

It’s really hard to review middle books of a series so I’m going to keep it short and simple. If you aren’t already reading this series, what do I need to do to convince you to pick it up? I know a seven book series is a lot, but the author has already published three of those seven books so you know she’s committed, and hey, Harry Potter was a seven book series, and this series is almost that good, in my opinion. It’s completely different, of course, and the only thing it has in common with HP is the more »

Book Review: My Best Friend’s Exorcism

I don’t know exactly where to begin with this book, tbh. This had all the makings to be a perfect me book. Campy, 80s setting with suspense and the strange. What particularly drew my attention to this title was that it’d been on a list of books to read if you love Stranger Things. (Don’t know what Stranger Things is? Get on Netflix now.) I also have an odd adoration to that cover. Yeah yeah, don’t judge a book by a cover… But you and I both know that everyone does it anyway. It’s not a terrible book at all. more »

Book Review: A Court of Mist and Fury

I’ll try to remain as spoiler-free as I can, but unfortunately can’t guarantee due to it being a sequel. If you have not read this book yet, then here’s your warning now. Read reviews of any sequels at your own risk. Okay, let me get some things off my chest before I really get going… If you’re a huge Tamlin fan, you’re going to be severely disappointed in his lack of appearance in this installment. Lucky for me, I am a Rhysand fan. There’s a lot of Rhysand. It’s clear by the end that he’s more than just an extra male more »

Book Review: Nowhere But Here

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: THE THUNDER ROAD SERIES IS NOW MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE NEW ADULT SERIES To be honest, I was quite dubious about reading this book because me and New Adult genres usually don’t get along well. BUT OH MY GOD, THIS BOOK IS FREAKING FANTASTIC. And Oz is hella sexy. Though, I have to admit that I was quite intrigued by the motorcycle club part, because not gonna lie, I actually had the same opinions about them as the other characters in the book did. I thought this book would have a lot of slang, and yknow, those typical biker-gangsta more »

Book Review: A Court of Mist and Fury

So, A Court of Mist and Fury. This book was one of my top “must have” novels of 2016. When this book landed in my hands, I dropped everything to read this one. The backstory was that I was heartbroken when I loathed the Throne of Glass series. I made it through the first book, hated it, and tried the second book, only to DNF it. All of my friends really loved the series, and everyone promised that the series did get better. When A Court of Thorns and Roses came out, I was so hopeful to have a Sarah more »

DNF Review: The Prelapsarians

The Prelapsarians had all the makings to be one epic post-apocalyptic story, one I may have found myself a little over-excited to try and pick up, until I started reading. Unfortunately all interest was lost within the first forty pages when I felt like it’d already become too complicated, and still had well over 600 pages to go. The writing wasn’t bad, that wasn’t the problem for me, it’s just a read that would need a lot of time to process and get through. Time I don’t really have much of nowadays. My biggest qualm with the story itself was more »
