Book Review: Honor Among Thieves

Rachel Caine is one of my favorite authors, top five for sure. I was unsure about the premise of this book, and I can tell you right away, that part one of Honor Among Thieves is inferior to the rest. It’s not that it’s bad, because it isn’t, but it’s very mediocre compared to the rest. You have to stick with it to get to the meat and best parts of the book, which begin in part two. Book Review: Killman Creek

I’ve decided I will read anything Rachel Caine writes. It’s not a hard decision, really. I’m in the middle of her Great Library series that I love so much. I started and enjoyed Morganville Vampires, but then I got tired of vampires, though I will return to it at some point because it was really good. At some point I do intend to read the rest. But part of me can’t believe the same author wrote this book. That series is fun but a bit campy and it’s escapist fiction. This, on the other hand, LORD. Parts of it are escapist, yes, but it’s more »

Book Review: Dead Girls’ Dance

The Morganville Vampires Series by Rachel Caine isn’t winning any awards. The books are what I would like to call a guilty pleasure. Like reading a Harlequin Romance novel, which by the way I do not do. Just for the record. The novels are campy and plot-driven and simply-written. But they sure are a lot of fun. Every now and then I need to read a book like this to break up all the serious novels I’m reading and reviewing. I’m not too concerned about this review, and as such it will probably be fairly short. There’s not a whole more »
