When I first read the description, all I cared about was the “NO ONE EXPECTS A PRINCESS TO BE BRUTAL.” Expect it? No. Love it? YES! Sign me up for that because while I love my sweet, pretty princesses, sometimes I want one draped in blood and crowned with gore. So, I have to admit I was a bit in love when i read the description. I went in, not knowing what to expect. Book Review: My True Love Gave to Me by Various

This is a great story collection! Some stories were better than others. and my ratings ran from high to low, but there is definitely something here for everyone. Some of the stories put you in the mood for Christmas more than others, and there were a couple that didn’t even really feel like holiday stories. But regardless of all that, this is an anthology that’s definitely worth reading. It helps to read it near the holidays, but I wouldn’t say it’s necessary. I don’t usually do the short story thing. When I see them at the book store, even in the YA/MG section, I just pass right over them. To me, they seem like they’re teasers for some potentially awesome books. That is just my take – I apologize to the short story enthusiast. I enjoy getting very invested in a novel.
