Kara Watches KDrama: The First Three

It’s a new year and that means it’s time to try new things. Right? Right? I don’t know how it happened exactly, but someone on social media said how great Hello, My Twenties was, and I got bored one day and looked it up to see what it was, and of course it was on Netflix. So I settled in to give it a chance, and I was almost immediately hooked. I liked it immediately, but I am super, super picky. So the KDramas I will talk about here will be the best of the very best. I have no more »

What The Hell, Lyn?

So there might be some question on what happened at the end of the year, after I got back from Florida and ALA in July. Florida was great, and I had a wonderful time! Visiting the state was a blast and it was good to see Kara again. I met some wonderful authors and I picked up some books, and the vacation away from life was needed.I want to go to Chicago and visit ALA again, and I’m trying to make that happen. But I dropped off the map for a while. I disappeared. I stopped posting. I skipped out on a round more »

Favorites of 2016

It seems like almost everyone is making posts about their favorite books of 2016, so I wanted to join in the fun and do my own. The thing is, I had a really interesting year of reading. There were a few great books, but mostly my reads were mediocre. I was just super picky, I guess, but when you read a lot and read for your job as well, you start to learn a few things and gain some really rigid opinions about what is good and what isn’t. So my list is the best of the best, in my more »

Blogger Burnout & New Year Resolutions

I feel like I made a post like this not too long ago… minus the New Year resolutions part. Hm. It’s certainly been a year, I’ll say that. I’m positive this is the first year I won’t make my GR reading goal, not even make 20 books at best, and I’ve been a member since 2010. This is the first year I haven’t blogged at least twice a week, lucky to blog maybe twice a month. It’s sad really. And I deeply apologize about that. When I made the decision to go back to school back in January for my Bachelor’s, more »

Imaginative Discussions: I Left Because…

HI. So if you realised, I haven’t been here for quite awhile. I would say that it’s due to studies and work, but that would frankly be a lie, because I did manage to write reviews on Goodreads, so why not here or on my personal book blog? Lemme tell you why. I thought of leaving. Gasp. Yes, I did. I thought of leaving the book community. Not because I suddenly got tired of reviews or that I rarely read any more. I was just feeling very….. strangled. By what? Society’s opinions. Or rather, the book community’s opinions. Is it more »

What Has Happened to Us?

Disclaimer: Before I get started, I needed you to know that this is not going to be a positive or happy post. I am feeling in quite the negative head space right now as I write this, but it is something that has been weighing heavily on my mind for some time now. Before you judge me, or anyone else for that matter, I want you to think outside of your own experiences and keep an open mind. Realize that not everyone deals with situations the same way you do, or feels the same way you do when drama should more »
