Book Review: Other Broken Things

I felt really horrible about this, but I started off this book on a very bad note. I just was not impressed with the main character, Natalie. She was rude, horrible, and at one point of time, she actually said this: “Driving was stupid. I get that. But I wasn’t plastered. I’ve been way drunker, and frankly, the whole things would’ve been fine if I hadn’t hit the wet road. And if I hadn’t been distracted by the shit show of my life. The “legally drunk” thing is sort of bullshit. You hit your legal drunk limit after one drink. more »

Review: The Impostor Queen

I buddy-read this book with Rachel from Go Read A Book, and woah, I was at one of my slowest moments. HAHA I think she finished reading the book like a day before me, because I was swamped with work. And this is my first time in a long time doing buddy-reads, and I have forgotten how amazing it feels to be able to rant to someone else about the book you’re reading, without worrying about accidentally giving out spoilers. Anyway, I’ve heard many many great things about The Impostor Queen since last year, when the first ARCs came out and I’ve more »

Book Review: Soundless

Did you know, I was scared to read this book because of all the negative reviews that I’ve seen it getting, but I do have to say this: I really liked this book. I don’t love it, but I really liked it. I felt that there were problems here and there, but I still did like it. I definitely LOVE the whole setting of this book. A whole village of deaf people? I was reaaally curious as to how Richelle Mead would write out this story, knowing that there shouldn’t be any sense of hearing or noises here and there. I more »

Would You Read the Book or Watch the Movie First?

Read the book OR watch the movie first? HELLOOOO 2016! Okay, this week (or rather, today), I wanted to discuss about books-to-movies adaptations. Recently, I’ve seen TONS of books going to be a TV series, OR a movie, which I think is greeaaaaat. BUT I also do have my reservations about them. The first book-to-movie adaptation that I actually knew of was the Harry Potter series. I do have to admit this: I was young, and seriously naive, so I actually watched Harry Potter and the Sorceress’ Stone BEFORE reading it. Like I said, I was young. When this movie came out, I more »

DNF Book Review: Godhunter

This is my first ever DNF review on Great Imaginations, and I’m pretty much scared, let me admit that HAHAH. *side-eyes everyone* Okay, I rarely DNF a book usually, unless the book has a horrrrible main character. I really really HATE it when the main character is badly written, because it will ruin the whole story line for me. Currently, I am having this very very strong urge to RANT OUT everything wrong with this book, but I shall calm myself down and instead list the FIVE reasons as to why I DNF-ed this book. FIVE REASONS AS TO WHY I BOYCOTT THIS more »
