About Pixie

Hola! Coma estas? Yo soy Pixie.

Okay… that’s all I basically know even though I studied two years. 🙁 LOL.
Back to it then.

I’m awful at intro pages, let’s get that out of the way now. So if I sound ridiculous at any point here… SORRY.

As stated above, my name is Pixie (if you didn’t figure that out already, I mean…). I’m a 31 year old lady from Texas. Some of you may even know/recognize me from my previous blog, The Bookaholic, where I blogged for nearly four years before joining up with the ladies here GI earlier in February of 2015. I’m also pretty much on Twitter at all hours (@addiction2books). Haha.

<— Oh yeah… that’s me!

Of course there are other things besides blogging (and reading–gasp) that I love:

I’m a self-published author, but you won’t find me really talking about it much. I don’t get all spammy or pushy with my work because I know from personal experience as a blogger how annoying it is. It’s also not my greatest and when I published at the time, I was overeager to just get it out there. The experience has been nice in itself, but since then I’m on a hiatus. I love writing, and I do want to publish again, only after I feel better though.

The type of books I find myself gravitating to mostly are YA Fantasy or post-apocalyptic/dystopian. I also adore historical fiction, and sometimes contemporary reads, but the catch with both of these genres/categories for me is that I’m fairly picky with them. It all depends on the synopsis, time period, recommendations, and even author at times with these reads. But really, I’m not AS picky as it seems. My favorite authors include: Stephen King, Melissa Marr, Richelle Mead, Laini Taylor, Brandon Sanderson, Shakespeare, Leigh Bardugo, Ilsa J. Bick, Holly Black and more.

I love cooking/baking. I love history.

I don’t even know… If I hadn’t been interested in books/writing since childhood, I would have been stuck making a difficult decision I think. I’m a huge history dork, but at the same time I love cooking/baking so much that I would’ve ended up doing something with one or the other if my life had went a different direction. Haha. I do cook a lot nowadays though, and study a lot of history just for fun, so I guess I ended up doing both anyway along with the writing/reading thing. 😉

I also love cats. And have a special kitty cat named Bella. I have a silly lab dog, too, that I adore as well. Totally not counting her out.

I’m really obsessed with a few things:

Supernatural, Teen Titans Go, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, comic books, tattoos, coloring books, games, purple, sweat pants, diamond candles, Converse.

Really, this is all I know to tell at the moment but I’m sure I’ll be back here to edit some later (and add in some pics/additional pics when I get the chance!).

If you have any questions for me, feel free to hit me up on Twitter sometime. I’d love to chat! 🙂
