TOP TEN TUESDAY IS HOSTED BY THE BROKE AND THE BOOKISH.
Top Ten Tuesday is taking a break at the moment, so I thought it would kinda be a good idea to play catch up while BatB was on hiatus with TTT.
For this week, I wanted to do my top books I have read so far this year. Which is going to be kinda sad, because as of mid-July, I have read only 17 books and DNFed 5 – so all in total, 22. #fail
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor – this book was so worth the wait! I love that this has a sci-fi feel, and I admit that this novel is a great example of the growth I have seen from this author. I even loved the romance, which can be a little hard after getting choked on it from Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Seriously, this was a great book.
The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma – If there is ever a need for a book to mess with your head, then this is the one for you. That ending still has me trying to uncode the entire plot. And HOORAY UNRELIABLE NARRATORS!!! <3 <3 <3
This Adventure Ends by Emma Mills – I’m not really the contemporary lover, but I loved this book. It had such a good balance of snark, realism and believable romance. I couldn’t put this one down when I picked it up.
Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves – This was a surprise favorite that I wasn’t expecting. What really drew me to the novel was the dilemma that Anna faced. I’m ready to see more lit where the right answer isn’t always the clear path. Wonderful book.
The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – I LOVE THIS SERIES AND I NEED MORE NOW.
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas – YES. Yes oh yes. This is my potato chip series. I loved it, and I want all the fan art from the series.
Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza – I had this novel on many of my highly anticipated list since I read about it last year, but I was in for a real shock when I ended up loving this book so much.
Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop – it was far from perfect but at least I got more from this world building. I’m so not done with this universe.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo – NO NO NOOOOOOO. More!
Starflight by Melissa Landers – This is going to be my year of awesome sci-fi. I totally loved how this book had a wonderful blend of nostalgia for those of us wanting a Star Trek: TNG YA inspired novel about forged family in space and current kick ass female love.
