THIS WEEK’S TOPIC: Top Ten 2017 Debuts I’m Excited For
New year, new round of books! And thanks to social media, the push from readers and current trends, 2017 is showing that readers are wanting something fresher, newer, and in touch with what is happening today, and reflecting what is happening in our current world. Today, I share what debut books I am excited to read in 2017!
The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas: Angie is awesome on Twitter, and her book sounds awesome, and I have an intense crush on the cover. Also, a book about the BLM movement? We need this.
Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones: Ever since I saw the cover, I have needed this book. When I saw Goblin King, I was all like OMG THIS IS LABYRINTH, ISN’T IT??!
Blood-Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves: I know this kinda sounds like another YA book, but I’m just a sucker for the whole discrimination by blood storyline.
Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza: I love space stories. It is my inner Star Trek geek coming out.
The Gallery of Unfinished Girls by Lauren Karcz: I love that cover, and I like to think of myself as artistic, so this book just speaks to me.
Shimmer and Burn by Mary Taranta – If anything starts with “To save her sister’s life”, then I am so there.
The Traitor’s Kiss by Erin Beaty: “An obstinate girl who will not be married.” – HAHAHAHA. Yes please!!!
27 Hours by Tristina Wright: Because the writer said this was based off the Disney’s TV cartoon Gargoyles from the 90s, and that is one of my all-time favorite shows. GARGOYLES!!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber: The hype is real on this one!
The Wood by Chelsea Bobulski: This one just sounded creepy and appealing enough for me to get the grabby hands.
