Top Ten Tuesday

TOP TEN TUESDAY IS HOSTED BY THE BROKE AND THE BOOKISH.
THIS WEEK’S TOPIC: Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to)

So, 2016 rolled on by, right over us, our goals, our hearts, our sanity, and our reading goals. I totally bombed in the reading department last year. I bought books, hoarded them, and didn’t read as many as I wanted.

However, I am determined to get to some of these that excited me! 2017 is still a wee babe, and these releases are not yet hits of the past. Today, I am sharing the books I really want to read that were last year’s releases!

Heartless by Marissa Meyer: I looked everywhere for this when the book released (I wanted the Target edition), only to let it sit there and collect dust.

Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: I was so excited by this one, and I fell right in love with the color, but a certain turn of events at the end of the year caused me to put this one on hold.

The Swan Riders by Erin Bow – the sequel to one of my favorite books in 2015, and I couldn’t even get to it! ARG!

Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here by Anna Breslaw:  I bought this in Florida, after everyone kept dropping “Daria” comparisons, and yet, it judges me from my TRB pile.

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows:  Another purchase in Florida, sadly waiting for the day I will give it the time of day. And I was so excited to have this one releases!

Beast by Brie Spangler: I met the author and I was stokes for this one! AAAARRRHHHHH. This one might be further up on this list…

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye: This one was on my highly anticipated this. I bought it, so excited, and I look at it constantly, excited to start it.

Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill: This author was so cool, and knew my Twitter handle, so this one brings a LOT of guilt.

Yesternight by Cat Winters: Every time I make plans to get to any Cat Winters book, something keeps happening. It is like we were never meant to be together.

As I Descended by Robin Talley: This was a Yule gift to myself. I really hope it doesn’t take until next December to pick it up.

  1. The Crown’s Game is excellent! I’m sure you’ll love it when the time comes to read it. My Lady Jane is on my tbr too. I started it, but for some reason never got around to finishing it. It’s pretty funny, from what I did read, though. That’s good news. 🙂
