A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of curious photographs.
A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography.

  1. I did not read the book since neither of my local library counties had it in circulation. I’ll look around to see where the movie is playing and probably do an afternoon show. Thinking back on my childhood, I should have been one of those peculiar children also.

I have not read the book yet but my son loves Tim Burton movies and I can’t want to go see it with him

  3. I am very glad there is to be a movie of this book. I loved the book so much! My fear is that the beauty of the book won’t be captured properly on film. It will take the right combination of actors, screen writers, and other professionals to bring the film together.

I loved the book and I’m excited/apprehensive about the movie. It’s always a crapshoot watching a movie made from a book you really like.
