I was tagged by Amber at YA Indulgence.  Thank you for the opportunity to share my mess I call my shelving.

Border Leaf

Describe your bookshelf (or wherever it is you keep your books-it doesn’t actually have to be a shelf!) and where you got it from.

Er, my shelving is eclectic. I have 10 milk crates, three DVD shelves, the floor in front of my window and then a bookshelf I purchased from Target. After we moved from a huge 2 bedroom apartment to a smaller one bedroom, I am desperate to find book space.

Do you have any special or different way of organizing your books?

Just try to find a place for them all….Kili sometimes helps.

What is the thickest/biggest book on your shelf?

The Cosmos coffee table book is like a sled. Kili was VERY impressed.

And the thinnest?

The Whipping Boy. It is SUCH A SMALL LITTLE BOOK. Also, I hate those damn stickers on the front of books! Those should be totally illegal.

Is there a book from a friend on your shelf?

Yah! Kara bought me Compulsion for Yule, and I am just waiting to get to it.

Most expensive book?

I bought this off of eBay about 12 years ago and paid about $75 for it. It was a birthday present to myself. First edition and EVERYTHING!

The last book you read on your shelf?

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda. This was SUCH a cute read! I might have to keep this one instead of selling it off.

Do you have more than one copy of a book?

If I have any extra copies, then I tend to give them away. I do have many duplicates of ebooks/physical books.

What’s the newest addition to your shelf?

I bought this one totally off of recommendations. You all are a horrible influence on me.

What’s the most recently published book on your shelf?

Made for You. I just totally dig that cover.

The oldest book on your shelf?

My friend gave me this collection of 12 small Shakespeare books a while ago, and we are looking up the publication date for the set. I just love it so much. It is SO PRETTY.

A book you’d hate to let out of your sight (aka a book you never let someone borrow)?

My Special Edition of Dreams of Gods and Monsters because of the artwork in the back (see above). If someone wants to borrow it, I just buy them the book.

Most beat up book?

My New Tolkien Companion is a little worse for wear.

Most pristine book?

Seriously, 99% of my books are in excellent condition.

A book from your childhood?

Babysitters Club FTW!!!

A book that’s not actually your book?

I was given a copy of The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by a friend. I still need to read it I am a horrible friend.

A book with a special/different cover (e.g. leather bound, soft fuzzy cover etc.)?

The Special Edition cover of The Lightning Thief is a slip cover with beautiful artwork.

A book that is your favorite color?

Book that’s been on your shelf the longest that you STILL haven’t read?

I honestly cannot answer this one. I suppose you should just see my TBR shelf on GR and get the gist…

Any signed books?

I am going to display one of my favorites: Claire Legrand’s The Year of Shadows. <3

Now who do I tag…..seriously, this is the worse part of a meme. So, if you want to do this, please leave a comment so I can keep an eye out for your own post!

  1. My bookshelves look pretty similar too! I love the cover of the Merciless which is sad because I don’t really think that I would like the book. I shall just continue to admire it in bookstores…I can’t wait to read The Fill In Boyfriend! I’ve only read one Kasie West book, but I really liked it and this new one sounds cute.

    • I am very curious about reading The Merciless – it has a spoiler at the start of the book. Whoa.

I want to read Fill In Boyfriend before the end of summer – it seems like a perfect hot weather novel!
