This week’s topic: Our Favorite Upcoming 2015 Titles
There are books that it seems like every blogger is looking forward to the rest of the year, but I wanted to do something different and choose books that are maybe not getting as much attention. They are still coming out in the rest of the year, but they are not Winter, Soundless, or Lair of Dreams, or any of those hyped YA novels.
I loved Station Eleven by Emily St. Mandel, and this sounds like it might be along the same vein. I’m hoping it’s just as great, and man I love the title!
About a woman whose fiance is abducted from a rest stop in the desert. She heads into the desert to find him. This just sounds like a friggin awesome thriller and I love the cover.
I don’t know, but the blurb of this book sounds absolutely brilliant. Entertaining. About a woman who screams “Fuck you!” at a PTA meeting and sets out on a mother-daughter road trip.
One of the middle grade novels this year I am really looking forward to. It’s about a Chinese legend, maps, adventure, and the cover looks distinctly like a woodblock print. GIVE ME NOW.
I don’t know why, but this book is giving me a Howl’s Moving Castle vibe. And I mean, a pet Capybara? How often do you find that? There are illustrations and I don’t know if I am going to love them, but this story is intriguing me something FIERCE.
1. The Geomancer: Vampire Empire: A Gareth and Adele Novel by Clay Griffith, Susan Griffith
Vampire Empire is my favorite paranormal series. I fell in love with the characters and the worldbuilding. When I finished the last book in the trilogy, I took it hard. So when this book was featured on Cover Snark, I seriously SCREAMED MY HEAD OFF.
2. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
It is safe to say than I fangirled over Bardugo’s first series. The books and the characters are some of my favorites, ever. I am on board with whatever this author has next in store. I’d read a greeting card if she wrote it. Her humor is just some of the best. Period.
3. A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis
So all of my favorite authors decided to release books this year, and McGinnis is no exception. I fell in love with Not a Drop To Drink when it was recommended to me. I am looking forward to this beautiful book,
4. Of Dreams and Rust by Sarah Fine
I LOVED the first book in the series, and I am so hyped up for the sequel, I can hardly stand it! I am hoping for some more Phantom of the Opera parallels in the follow up book in the series.
5. Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
I really had no interest in this novel…until I read the blurb. A chunky Texan beauty queen? Texas? A body positive story? I need this book, like, right now.
What books are you planning to purchase for the second part of the 2015? Is your shelf going to expand by 2016?
