Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

Hi, everyone! Kara here. I feel like such a bad blogger lately. I had to even think how I should be formatting this post. Oy. I have just been working so hard and there is Big Brother, and thankfully I have two awesome co-bloggers to take over a bit when I am slacking. O_o. It’s just been tough for me lately to pick up a book. It’s been a while since I have been wowed by something I’ve read so my motivation to read is kind of not there either. Basically, it sucks. But I’m trying.

My birthday came and went on the 27th of July, but I got a few late gifts this week (from awesome friends!!) that I want to include in a haul so I am doing one two weeks in a row. That’s unusual for me, huh?

I have a discussion post coming later this week that goes into a bit more detail about my reading problems so I hope you will come back for that. I am thankful. SO thankful for this community that keeps me coming back or I would have quit blogging long ago.

Anyway, here are the books.

It’s funny that Kara says she feels like a bag blogger lately, because this week I’ve been feeling the same way. I’ve been taking time away from social media and just the internet in general.  I haven’t really been feeling social lately, and as I said in a recent post, the weight of a blogging TBR is wearing me down.  So I kind of took the time to hang out with myself (since Mike’s been working all week.) I played Borderlands 2 A LOT, read some Harry Potter, and now I’m watching Orange is the New Black.  OH and the bedroom is finished!  We have all new decor – curtains, furniture, rug, bed frame, everything.  In all, a successful week, I’d say.

On the bookish side of things, I only got three books this week, all purchased.  I’m really excited to read them!  In case you haven’t noticed though, my No Buying Except to Read Immediately rule is not sticking as well as I hoped. =/

I also got an awesome surprise package from my OTSP Secret Sister!  She sent me a Twilight Sparkle figurine, a gorgeous nail polish, a notebook, and DELICIOUS chocolate.  Thank you, whoever you are!

  1. Sorry to hear you’re having a bad time of it! I experienced that a couple of years ago, and ended up leaving the blogging world for about 2 years! I think I just burnt out in the end. It was great for me though because when I came back I could see what I’d been doing that I hadn’t been enjoying and cut it all out – reviewing self-published books (used t get a request a day), doing tour posts, all of that got cut and now my blog is just reviews, discussions and my STS posts. Whoops, sorry for rambling. I hope you have a great week!

  2. Great hauls girls!! Kara, I am feeling like a bad blogger too. Well, I am a bad blogger, but I don’t have awesome co-bloggers to help. Maybe something I should look into. When I started my blog I wasn’t working, now I am working full time (and of course BB really takes up my summer evenings!) and the kiddo is starting school in the fall so my time has been stretched thin.

Bekka, love the Twilight Sparkle MLP. We have a lot of MLP’s here. I say we because they are my daughters, but I love them!! I used to have tons of them when I was a kid. (The originals are so much better, but what can you do? Lol) I have been really bad at social media for months now. I am hoping to get back into things soon. I keep saying that…

Hope you both enjoy the new books!!
