Bekka here 🙂  I feel like this week flew by for me.  Something about Mike’s work schedule I guess, but it feels like no time passed between Monday and Friday! Also who told August it was allowed to show up?

I had a great week, books-wise.  I’ve been adhering to the plan of only buying books I plan to read right away, but I did go ahead and buy one book that I’ve already read, just because.  I also was given a gift card this week that I used on a couple ebooks.  Finally, there was a Harper drop on EW, and I showed some MAJOR restraint.

Kara here! I haven’t done a haul in a couple weeks because I haven’t really been getting very many books. I didn’t request any from publishers because I am so behind, so I waited until my birthday week, and I got some stuff then.

I’ve been so busy with work and Big Brother that blogging has kind of taken a backseat, but not for much longer. There’s basically only a month of BB left and I am really trying to get more reading done but I’ve always sucked at time management, and there is just not enough time in the day to do all I want to do! I usually fall behind a bit EVERY summer but this summer feels worse for some reason.

My birthday was great though. Dan made me goat cheese/avocado burgers, and I am going out for my birthday dinner tomorrow. Thursday we went to the beach, and that was awesome because it was the first time I have been able to go this summer. Also, Dan goes back to work next week. 🙁

Here are the books!

  1. Nothing wrong with August turning up… because it’s my birthday month! *birthday shimmy* Happy belated birthday too! Although I hate August because all the cool places get swarmed by small screaming children – apparently no-one can parent properly in Leeds. I hope you have a great week!

  2. Yay Obsidian!! Love that book!

Yay Vampire Academy too! Another great series! That’s the one that drew me back to reading YA! LOVED it! Have you dove in yet after that Shadow Kiss ending? I remember at the time I was left shouting a bit since I binged read the first 3 and then had to wait a few months for the next one! It was brutal! Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. Such a pretty edition from Earth girl! I love The assassin’s blade and I almost got Everything that makes you from Edelweiss too. I’ve heard good things about A little something different and I’m curious to see what you think about all those POV’s. Bone Gap, Red queen and Monstrous are also in my possession, they sound so good.

    Happy reading girls!

  4. I’m on the fence about The Beginning of Everything but everytime I see it I keep thinking I should pick it up. The Assassin’s Blade! I’m on hold for that at the library so I can finally get started on that series.
Your birthday dinner sounds DELICIOUS, Kara! I’m glad you had a nice day.
    Happy reading you guys!
