Friday is my official blogoversary, and as you can see from the title, I will be celebrating three years of book blogging!
Just a couple days ago I was talking on Twitter about serial hobby dropping. I am so bad at sticking to one thing. I’ve picked up knitting, needlepoint, building and maintaining aquariums, photography – you name it, I’ve probably tried it! The one thing that I’ve started and stuck with is book blogging. Of course, I’ve had my hiatuses, and even thought I was going to quit for good. But it’s been three years now and blogging and reviewing are still constants in my life.
I feel like I owe this commitment to the community we find in blogging. I’ve never reached out to other people, or had people reach out to me, quite at this level before. We’re all in this for the love and lifelong passion of reading. It’s an amazing feeling every time there is a huge new release and you know that hundreds of other people are reading the same pages you are. Or how about the fact that we can get into hours-long conversations on Twitter about ships in a series that ended seven years ago. Bloggers are the best enablers in the world – they will always encourage more book-acquiring. There are people who totally get you when publishers change book covers right in the middle of a series.
|There are some other perks to this community also.|
My blogging journey wouldn’t have been nearly as rewarding without all the amazing people to share it with. So to everyone who has ever commented on a book review, shared one of my discussion posts, or took to Twitter to join me in one of my rants, I want to say thank you. Particularly by having a giveaway!
