2nd Annual Blind Date with a Book Giveaway!

Posted February 3, 2014 by Kara in Giveaway / 61 Comments

It’s that time of the year again!  Time for dollar bin chocolate, wilting carnations, and a night on the couch with Ben, Jerry, and Sherlock.  That’s right – it’s Valentine’s Day!  Last year on Great Imaginations, we selected two lucky readers and set them up on a blind date… with a book!  This year we are so excited to bring back the fun and we hope you love this year’s eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.

How does it work?

Each of our bachelors and bachelorettes have completed their Dating Profiles, including some of their hobbies, and what they’re looking for in a potential reader!  Once you’ve read through each profile, decide which mystery book you’d like to take out for a night on the town… or, you know, the couch.

There will be three winners chosen for this giveaway, and yes, it is international.  To enter, fill out the Rafflecopter form below, and don’t forget to leave a comment telling us which book you’d chose.  All books are 2014 releases.  Some books may not be out yet, in which case we will purchase a pre-order for you.

  1. What a fantastic idea! I’m torn between #4 and #9, just can’t make up my mind! Thanks for a great giveaway & possible date, I’ve given myself a headache trying to figure out what the books are and I think the drawings are inspired 🙂

  2. It’s a tough choice, but I think if it came down to it, I would pick Mystery Book #9–secret training & magic? How could I resist?
I love the covers, by the way. They made me smile!

  3. This is such a great idea of a giveaway, love the mystery date idea. As for books, I’m torn between #5 and #6. Love the faces that were drawn for the covers too 🙂

  4. This is so fun! And those drawings are fantastic. Based on how they’ve described themselves, I’m quite drawn to #7 and #9, personally. I think either would make an excellent date!

  5. This is absolutely fantastic, and it’s brand new to me as I wasn’t here last year, so it’s a lovely surprise! I think I’d probably choose between #2 and #8, because I’m sure I’m cracked those and I’m really interested in them! 😀 I also forgot to put that I followed you on Bloglovin’, sorry about that 🙂

  6. Amy

I loved it when you did this last year. It was so fun to try to guess the books. I have a good idea of some of them this time. I think that I would go with date #6. 🙂

  7. I love this idea! All these books sound fabulous and I must know what they are once this is over – the covers are pretty awesome, too! 🙂 1, 3, and 8 sound the best to me, but I think 8 would have to be the winner here.

  8. I couldn’t decided between #9 and #4. I love the cover of 4 but #9 sounds like my perfect date!!

This is really clever. I think one of the best ideas I have seen in a while. Great job !!!

  9. this is such a cute and clever idea… plus all the drawings that you include! have to say i’m curious about the korean one… but would love a blind date (book date, ahem) with any! 😉

  10. Haha, awesome giveaway, girls 🙂 I think I would probably go for #9. It’s a pretty safe choice, but come on, I am always down for magic and fantasy 🙂

  11. I would like to go on a date with Mystery Book #6 as I seem to be Korean myself hahah this is really fun! Thank you so much for this amazing giveaway! 🙂

  12. This is an awesome idea, and those covers are hilarious/adorable!! I love this idea more than I can possibly describe. And if I had to choose, I think #6 might be a safe bet for a blind date 🙂

  13. This is such a fun idea for a giveaway!!! Seriously a blind date with a book sounds perfect…hats off to you for thinking of it!
I’m not sure which one I would actually go with if I saw lucky enough to win though…I’m so torn…especially because I feel like I can guess what some of them are and I don’t know if that makes me want to choose them more or less…
I’m curious will you be revealing what all the blind dates were at the end of the giveaway? I would really like to know regardless of whether I won or not…

  14. Oh my goodness, not an easy one at all.. I think I would go with either 3, 6 or 9 and hope that they are what I think they are! I cannot wait to see who the mysterious ones are! Thank you for such an inventive, fun giveaway!
