 stacking the shelves
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought over the course of the week.

So it’s officially been one week!  I know it hasn’t been long, but so far I am in love with this co-bloggership!  I’ve found that each of us has a different blogging style and that we all, while different, definitely compliment each other.  Also, I have to say, this has to be the most relaxed, stress-free, and fun week of blogging that I’ve had in a very, very long time.

Now, I wasn’t sure I would be participating in StS this week because I had only gotten ONE book.  But then HarperTeen did a drop on Edelwiess and if you know me, you know I could not resist. These are books that have been on my wish list for a while now, so I am soooo excited to be able to read them!

Insanity by Susan Vaught
(Thanks, Bloomsbury!)
Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy
The Half Life of Molly Pierce by Katrina Leno
The Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer
The Vanishing Season by Jodi Lynn Anderson
(Thank you, HarperTEEN!)
It’s Kara. I’m laughing at Bekka’s books up there because two of them are ALSO in my haul. We do have similar tastes, I’ve noticed. We just don’t always agree on the end result. And…I almost requested Insanity too but I can’t justify having to wait for approval on NetGalley when I still have so many books to review. But since I am auto-approved on Edelweiss for Harper, somehow that is okay…. This is how my brain works.
Anyway, I really wanted to a vlog this week, but with only e-books, there is no reason. So you don’t get one. You don’t even get a PICTURE. Just book covers. Muahaha.
For Review:
The Art of Lainey by Paula Stokes
The Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer
The Vanishing Season by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Thanks, Harper, for another fantastic drop on Edelweiss!
Fortune’s Pawn by Rachel Bach
Who says bloggers don’t sell books? I bought Fortune’s Pawn because blogger friends of mine (Christina mainly) are loving it. Cherry Truong has been on my wishlist forever and I finally just broke down and bought it.
That’s it for me this week!
First of all, I am super sad that I did not do a damn thing for our STS #69 a few weeks back. I fail.
Anyways, I have a super huge haul. This is a month’s worth of books right here. I am almost positive that a few were left out, on top of that. To the books:

That’s all!

On Monday, Lyn reviewed Oh Myyy! There Goes the Internet by George Takei
Also on Monday, Kara posted a giveaway of The Color Of Light by Helen Maryles Shankman
On Tuesday, Lyn and Bekka shared their Top Ten New Year’s Resolutions
Bekka ranted about spoilers on Wednesday
Thursday, Kara reviewed the graphic novel The Cute Girl Network by Greg Means, MK Reed, and Joe Flood
Finally, on Friday, Bekka reviewed And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard
Links we love:
Gillian from Writer of Wrongs talks about Second Book Syndrome, what it is, and why it happens.
Ashleigh from The YA Kitten shares her roomie horror stories and is giving away a copy of Roomies by Sara Zarr and Tara Altebrando.

Jamie from The Perpetual Page Turner has this awesome post on the ebb and flow of her bookshelves, and I can relate to A LOT of this.

Steph at Cuddlebuggery got behind in her reviewing in 2013 and this is how she’s fixed it (there is a giveaway too): To All the Books I Forgot to Review.

Debby at Snuggly Oranges’ spreadsheets are like WHOA (said in Joey Lawrence from Blossom’s voice).

  1. Yes, it was an awesome Harper drop week for all of us! Will be interesting to see if we agree on anything at all! Lyn! I would LOVE your thoughts and commentary on Imaginery Girls and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown. Feel free to stalk me so we can chat!

  2. HarperTeen need to stop springing these books on me, because I have no self control whatsoever. The Half Life of Molly Pierce, The Secrets of Lily Graves, and The Vanishing Season all sound fantastic, and I can’t wait to get to them!

I also got The Art of Lainey, which had better be excellent because IT SOUNDS SO GOOD.

Lynn has so many hardbacks, I’m jealous of the pretty *___*

  3. I can’t wait to read Side Effects and The Secrets of Lily Graves. I’ve never heard of the Reeducation of Cherry, but it looks really interesting. I love that cover. Great haul, ladies! Hope are having fantastic weekends!

  5. You both got some really great books. I also couldn’t resist the Harper titles that went up on Edelweiss and I had to get a few of them!! I did totally fail and didn’t do a book haul the past two weeks though, so I will have to remember next week.

  6. You guys got some awesome books this week I hope you enjoy them all. I’m really excited for Side Effect May Vary, it looks like a fun read. Have a nice weekend 🙂

  7. Wow, so many books! I have to say I successfully resisted the HarperTeen titles on Edelweiss, even though it was hard, and I really want to read THE VANISHING SEASON! I guess I could change my mind and go back, but I’m going to try and be strong! Enjoy all your books:)
