Hey! Kara is out this week, soaking up the book love at BEA, and so I shall be your guide while she is out! She left this day open for a review, and I am sad to say that I am (still) behind on my reading.  I thought it would be a great time to share some of my favorite book fan art.  There is only one spoiler, so I will be certain to put it last, and add a huge warning above the picture.  Enjoy!

Book: Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
Art by: Gerwell

This is Sauron creating the rings.  It is lovely, and I find the art deco approach very attractive!

Book: Neverending Story by Michael Ende
Art by: m2mazzara

This really fits with the entire theme of the book – love it!

Book: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I think this is the only John Green book I flip out for, but I just love the story, and this picture is just perfect!

Book: Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Art by: Jo-yumegari

One of my favorite scenes. This picture makes me want to pick up the sequel, pronto.

This is so sad, and the picture just captures the spirit of this chapter.    hunger_games_by_daekazu-d4rm400

This is just so lovely.  I like the watercolor effect.

This is a possible spoiler for the book Angelfall by Susan Ee.

Such great fan art! I wish I was talented like that, but I can’t draw much beyond stick figures, and a cat in a bowl of ice cream. (I know, random lol!) Thanks for sharing these and I hope you catch up on reading. I am horribly behind too.

  2. I love these, especially The Fault in Our Stars and Daughter of Smoke & Bone (which are two of my fave books anyway). You haven’t read Days of Blood & Starlight yet? It’s amazing! Does have a slow start though, I would say. But worth the read. 🙂
I shouldn’t care but I’m one of the ones not looking forward to TFiOS movie. *sigh* I try to always keep book-movie adaptations separate and enjoy them in their own ways, but I’m on the fence with that one. Just loved the book too much I guess. Haha. Really adore the art up there for it though.

I haven’t read Angelfall yet so I don’t think that’s a spoiler for me but I kind of laughed at the image. Cute. Makes me want to read it more though. I’ve heard a lot of good things. 🙂

Thanks for sharing these! I always love seeing the different fan art for some of my favorite books. 😀

    • I have Days of Blood and Starlight set aside to read…I just haven’t got to it yet. 🙁

I don’t want a TFioS movie! No! The book is just fine! BOO!!

You haven’t read Angelfall yet??! I am going to harass you on FB now >:(

It was fun! If I ever gather more, I’ll share the link on Saturday!

  3. Oh my gosh, I love this post! Some I’d seen before and loved (like Daughter of Smoke and Bone and TFIOS) but the others are beautiful as well. Just… ANGELFALL. Seriously. So perfect. 🙂
