Stacking the Shelves #39

Posted April 20, 2013 by Kara in Kara, Stacking the Shelves / 15 Comments

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves. Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.

This was a pretty big week for me! I got some books for review in the mail, via Edelweiss, and I got a package from my co-blogger, Lyn! I’m not in much of a chatty mood today as it’s Friday morning at this time, and the Boston manhunt is still going on. It’s terrifying and my heart goes out to those locked in their homes and worried for their lives and their families. It almost feels kind of STUPID to post a haul this week, but I need a post for Saturday and I have obligations, so…yeah.

For Review:

The Extra by Kathryn Lasky

All That’s Missing by Sarah Sullivan

Fallout by Todd Strasser

These are all from Candlewick Press, so thank you to them for the lovely package I got this week. I knew it was coming and yet it was still wonderful!

E-books for Review:

Both are from Edelweiss and HarperCollins.

Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis

The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas

I can’t wait to dig into these two. Thank you, HC!

From Lyn, I got this wonderful package with some Burn Bright signed swag and a lovely copy of Moon Over Manifest by Claire Vanderpool. I loved Navigating Early, her other book, and Lyn knew that, so she sent me this. Cuz she’s awesome! I also got my copy of Siege and Storm back from her so I can read and review that soon!

And that’s it for me this week. Leave me a comment and I’ll try to come visit! Stay safe and happy reading! Until next week…

Great books hon!! I can’t wait to read Not A Drop To Drink and Burning Sky, they both sound so good!! What a fabulous package from Lyn! Enjoy!!

  2. I’m absolutely excited about Not A Drop To Drink as well as The Burning Sky. Totally didn’t see that on Edelweiss, and I’m bummed 🙁 I shall, however, live vicariously through your review!

  3. ooh awesome book haul! I am actually really curious about Not A Drop To Drink and The Burning Sky… however the HC titles lately haven’t been all that great and I just have too many of my own books to review. Hope you enjoy all your books!

  4. I’m so scared of Not a Drop to Drink after Taken and The Ward. I think dytopians are taking a turn for the worse! It looks so good though! DAMN COOL COVERS!! The Burning Sky is freaking cool it’s the first time I see that! *grabby hands*

Sorry I haven’t been visiting as much this week I was so uber busy and have’t had time to go around and read/comment on blogs as much as usual. Next weeks shouldn’t be as crazy though. I heart you!!

I loved Siege and Storm! It was one of my few 5 star reads this year (so far!). I also really like the sound of The Burning Sky. I didn’t download that one yet as I’m waiting to see what everyone think about it. I hope you enjoy it.

  6. I also got Not a Drop to Drink! Super excited for this one so I’m hoping it doesn’t disappoint… that’s been happening too often for me lately with YA dystopian. Also… SIEGE AND STORM. I’m reading this right now and am so damn excited. Happy Reading!
    My Showcase Sunday!

  7. Loving seeing Siege and Storm even though I still SERIOUSLY need to read Shadow and Bone (ugh!) The Burning Sky is one I am REALLY looking forward to but I’m scared it won’t live up to my expectations…and that cover! ♥ Not a Drop to Drink looks good too – congrats on ALL the loot & happy reading 🙂
