Stacking the Shelves #37

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves! Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Team Tynga’s Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.

It’s been a pretty quiet week around here this week. I only got one physical book in the mail. I did get two e-books and I signed up with a few publishers so hopefully I will be getting ARCs soon, but for now, it’s a small pile.

I know I always said that I would prefer to read my own books, and I still do, but I think I have gotten to the point where I think I can manage my reading schedule. Basically, I used to be much more stressed out than I am now. But with the proper medication, I have a stranglehold on my anxiety issues and I am doing much better. All we can do is read what we can, right? So if we can’t get it done before the release date, try to read it when you can. And that’s why I decided to start signing up for ARCs if the publishers will have me. I can DO THIS.

My dumb-ass took a photo of the one book I got this week and my thumb is in the picture. When I saw that, I rolled my eyes. But I left it, because I am simply too lazy to set it all up and take another one. 😀

For Review:

All Woman and Springtime by Brandon W. Jones (Thank you to Algonquin Books and LibraryThing)

E-books for Review:

The Caged Graves by Dianne K. Salerni (Thank you to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and NetGalley)

Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn (Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley)

And that’s it for me this week! I got some good ones but it is a small haul. Which is actually kind of great because I read 3 and a half books this week, so I actually make up some ground for once instead of falling behind even more.

Charm & Strange was not on NetGalley. I personally requested it from the publisher. But The Caged Graves is there, so flock there and hit the button!

Until next week…

Charm and Strange sounds so good!! I love the picture you took of All Woman and Springtime. Very pretty. Great haul Kara!

  2. I got the Caged Graves too, but via Amazon Vine. I like the look of Charm and Strange, yet am going to resist getting it from Netgalley because my pile is super out of control. It’s embarrassing, ha ha.

Also, I feel you on giant piles causing anxiety. Yet, despite being like omg omg how will I read all of these, I also see it as a super privilege because I have so many options.

  3. Charm and Strange has a super interesting cover. But like April, I am going to resist!! Because it really is getting ridiculous. I hope you enjoy your books!

  4. Yea, you got Charm & Strange! I can’t wait to read that one too. I will let you know how I like Sea Change…I’m really trying to back off my requesting, it’s been out of control and I’m behind in my Edelweiss and NetGalley books right now:( It’s just so hard to resist sometimes:)

  5. I keep hearing about Charm & Strange and really want to request it, but I’m drowning in review copies right now. I will content myself to wait and read your review instead, and if it’s good, buy it. 🙂 Great haul, happy reading!

  6. I have heard good, good things about Charm & Strange, I hope you like it, too!

And I know, I feel a bit behind with review books but there’s only one of me and I can’t read any more than I already do – if only we could create more hours in the day!

  7. I’m so excited about Charm & Srange. I will absolutely live vicariously through your review. I absolutely need to stay away from EW and NG for the next month! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

  8. Bahahaha, I hadn’t even noticed your finger in the picture, but now it’s all I can see. You are so hilarious and lazy. That’s how I feel once I’ve filmed a vlog. Don’t care if it’s bad; it’s done.

I hope that book is good!
