Stacking the Shelves #6

Posted February 10, 2013 by Kara in Stacking the Shelves / 35 Comments

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves. Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.

Hey hey hey book nerds!  I’m back in the STS saddle and shamelessly flaunting my lovely collection.

Look at my boobs books!

Here is the break down for the week:

Top to Bottom:

Boundless by Cynthia Hand – This goes to the front of the line.  I’m so excited.

An Extraordinary Theory of Objects by Stephanie LaCava – I won this on this very blog prior to becoming a coblogger.  I had forgotten about this until I saw it in the mail, TBH.

The Clockwork Three by Matthew J. Kirby – I loved Icefall so much that I thought that I would give the author’s other book a shot.

Pegasus by Robin McKinley – The reviews have been a little rough for this one, but I am curious enough to take a chance.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo – THANK YOU, KARA!!!!

Shadowlands by Kate Brian – The reviews have convinced me that this book is the most awesome thing since orange juice from concentrate.

City of a Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster – This was on my BUY IT NOW list.

Shadowlands has had some brilliant reviews. I still need to get my hands on that book! Pegasus is actually sitting on my shelf somewhere. My younger sister loved it but I haven’t had the chance to read it yet. City of a Thousand Dolls looks brilliant, too. I love the cover for that one.

    Great haul, Lyn! 🙂

    • Shadowlands has been everywhere in the reviews. A large range of ratings will hook me faster than all positive. I’m really curious about the results of this one.

Pegasus looks like it could be great.

  2. Good luck with City of a Thousand Dolls! I just finished that one and… Ugh. That’s all I want to say. Such a disappointment. But more importantly, shiny Boundless yay. I like to take those books out of my boxes and just watch them shine sometimes. So pretty!

I always feel so weird for being one of the few people who DIDN’T like Shadow and Bone. I’ve got no desire to read on and if someone throws a copy at me, I’d probably throw it right back to them! Still, I hope you enjoy it. Judging by your Caps Lock, you’re excited for it!

    • I am reading Boundless right now – I couldn’t wait to read the final book in the series. I do adore the covers, and the font is just beautiful.

I understand how it is when you just don’t like a book that everyone else loves. I didn’t go crazy over Cinder.

  3. Boob gif! *snorts*

Oooh, I bought Boundless this week, but it can’t go to the top, both because of all the review copies and the fact that I haven’t yet read Hallowed. Oops!

    • I have been waiting FOREVER to use it!

I’m rushing through Boundless. Hallowed is a quick read, luckily, so hopefully I’ll see your reviews on them soon!

  4. I loved Boundless so much, I can’t wait to see what you think of how the series wraps up. I really need to get around to reading Shadow & Bone, I’ve had it forever. Great haul. I love that the picture is upside down! LOL

  5. Ahhh, S&S! I’ve been trying my best to be VERY good about reading other books I need to read before June releases, but man…it is so hard to resist temptation.

And BOUNDLESS, SHADOWLANDS…hurry up, I need you to weigh in on those! Such conflicting emotions.

  6. Hahahaha.. boobs. I’m immature. 😛
Great haul, Lyn! I need to get Shadow & Bone so bad…hope you enjoy Seige & Storm! Shadowlands and City of a Thousand Dolls sound interesting too. I think I’ll add those to my TBR. 😉 The Unearthly series has such GORGEOUS covers. I read the first book and thought it was pretty good–I need to get Hallowed and see what happens next!

    Happy reading and enjoy!
