Welcome to Stacking the Shelves. Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. This is where we showcase books we have received or bought during the week.
I haven’t done a book haul post in awhile because I haven’t been getting that much. I haven’t bought any books either, and it’s not that I am on a book buying ban, I just am trying to save for something else. It’s kind of stupid, but every year I look forward to LUSH’s Halloween/Fall line coming out and I am kind of waiting for that, and LUSH isn’t cheap. So that’s why.
But I did get a few books for review and they have accumulated a bit over the last couple of weeks and I figured since they are starting to pile up, I’d better showcase them since I don’t know exactly when I will get to reading them. I AM getting caught up, but it’s coming slowly and I start my next editing job tomorrow so I won’t be reading as fast. Expect this blog to be updated less as well.
So, with that, let’s go!
So I didn’t realize I had included The Language of Flowers in my last post. So I accidentally photographed it here again. Whoops. I am planning to read this one soon though. So at least there’s that.
Beneath the Glitter by Elle and Blair Fowler (Thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin)
Why: There was a contest to win ARCs. I entered it because I am honestly curious about this book. TBH, the reviews aren’t THAT bad yet. They are not nearly as bad as I thought they would be.
Summer and Bird by Katherine Catmull (Thanks to LibraryThing and Dutton)
Why: I love middle-grade fantasy. I’ll read any that I can get my hands on. The blurb really sounds fascinating. And the cover also really drew me in.
E-books for Review:
Midnight City (The Conquered Earth #1) by J. Barton Mitchell (NetGalley-Thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin)
Kiss of the Butterfly by James Lyon (Thanks to the author)
Weighted by Ciara Knight (Thanks to the author)
Blood Bond (Dirty Blood #3) by Heather Hildenbrand (Thanks to the author)
And that’s it for me this week! I don’t know when I will do another haul post because I don’t get a lot of books like some of the other bloggers do, but I will visit those that comment here. Feel free to subscribe and I will return the favor! Thanks guys and happy reading!
